Totally, I just want to increase the upload size as it uploads to the media area of the site. this is the error I get when trying to upload it - adding attachments below:
It doesn't even try to upload, just fails immediately
I understand now what you mean. Most probably there is a limitation on the server, in terms of file type or upload limit. Please discuss this with the hosting support team, since I cannot do much from the theme code.

Is it possible to upload zip files for digital downloads of albums? also can I increase the max file size to 2GB?

But isn't the file that will be downloaded uploaded in the WooCommerce digital product configuration?
As I see in their documentation below, there is a dedicated field where you can upload the digital product:
